This project involves the conversion of a vacated bank headquarters in downtown Kokomo into a medical office building to house the hospital’s outpatient behavioral health department and financial services. The extensive scope of renovation involves replacing the entire exterior skin of the existing building complex, comprised of sections built in 1889, 1961 and 1978, to create a unified, contemporary appearance. All new interior wall partitions, room finishes and mechanical/electrical systems will be installed within the existing building structure. The project will not only provide the hospital with a state-of-the-art facility, but will also enhance the city’s downtown revitalization efforts and bring 90 hospital employees into the downtown area.
